Privacy Policy
Applies to the Android app My List
(package au.com.bzsystems.mylist), published by BZ Systems.
Last updated: 11 August 2026.
The short version. My List does not collect, transmit or share any personal information. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your lists stay on your device.
Information we collect
None. We do not collect, receive or store any personal information, device identifiers, location data or usage analytics. We have no servers that the app talks to, so there is nothing for us to see.
Information the app stores on your device
Everything you enter stays in the app's private storage on your own device:
- Your lists, their names and icons
- Items, quantities, completion state and ordering
- Groups, their colours and ordering
- Your item history, used for autocomplete suggestions
- App preferences such as your light or dark theme choice
This data is never uploaded. It leaves your device only when you deliberately export, back up or share a file, and in that case it goes wherever you send it — we are not involved and receive no copy.
Permissions
The app may ask for the following, and only for the stated purpose:
- Storage / file access — to save backup and group files you export, and to read files you choose to import.
- Sharing — to hand a list to another app when you tap Share. The app you choose then handles that content under its own privacy policy.
The app does not request internet, location, contacts, camera or microphone access.
Third-party services
My List does not include third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking software. No data is shared with third parties.
Distribution is through Google Play. Google collects its own information about app installs and any interaction you have with the store listing, governed by the Google Privacy Policy, not by this one.
Children
My List is rated suitable for ages 3 and over and is safe for general audiences. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children either. If you believe a child has somehow provided personal information to us, contact us and we will address it — although in practice there is no channel through which that could occur.
Data retention and deletion
We hold no data, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on your behalf, and there is no account to close. You remain in control of the data on your device:
- Delete individual items, groups or entire lists inside the app.
- Clear your saved item history from the app's history screen.
- Use Android's Settings → Apps → My List → Storage → Clear data to remove everything at once.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its stored data from your device.
Backup files you exported yourself are ordinary files — delete them like any other file if you no longer want them.
Security
Because your data never travels over a network, it is not exposed to interception by us or by anyone else in transit. On-device data is protected by Android's application sandbox and by whatever screen lock and device encryption you have enabled. Files you export are unencrypted so you can read and re-import them, so store and share them with the same care as any other personal file.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes on Google Play.
